International Day of Play

Play is the foundation of learning and creative problem solving. It is the primary way children learn.

And adults too!

What is play though?

To play is to act for no external goal or reward. It is done for its own sake! 😯

It helps to engage the mind with the environment and other people in it. That too with no specific goal in mind!

Its hard.

Because we live in a world where every action is done with a certain end goal in mind.

And it also the reason why we need much more play among adults.

Play to learn.

Play to bond.

Play to get creative.

Besides, with the kind of problems our world faces, we sure need more creative adults who think beyond themselves. It begins with play. 🤾‍♂️

Play is no easy feat! 💯

I suppose that what lies at the heart of the first UN International Day of Play.
